Heidi Troxell handles all aspects of family law matters and focuses on cases that impact children, including divorce, child abuse/neglect, adoption, stepparent adoption, parental rights, child support, juvenile delinquency, grandparent visitation and post-decree matters. She is a JD/MSW which is unique in the field and provides her with an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving in the best interests of families.
Before entering private practice, Heidi Troxell spent seven years at the Colorado Public Defender’s Office representing clients charged with all manner of felonies and misdemeanors. As a defense lawyer for criminal cases, Ms. Troxell has negotiated thousands of cases, conducted 50+ jury trials, drafted and argued countless motions, and defended clients against everything from DUI’s to homicides and sex offenses. She has also negotiated multiple dismissals and deferred sentences. Since 2015 Ms. Troxell has focused her litigation practice on juvenile and domestic issues and has litigated dozens of parental allocation cases, relocation cases, and parenting time modifications.
Heidi is a native of Florida but considers Colorado home. Outside of the office she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two children.
