Scott understands the devastating impact criminal charges have on individuals and families. He has devoted his entire legal career to protecting the Constitutional Rights of his clients. As an advocate for the rights of the accused, he is proud to stand with those put on trial for crimes by the government.

Scott knows that not every case goes to trial. When entering into a plea agreement with the government, he ensures that decision best serves his client and their long-term interests. Scott brings passion, professionalism, and expertise to every case regardless of the allegations.

Scott has extensive experience litigating complex criminal law matters, illegal search and seizure, First Amendment issues, and concerns of government misconduct. He has worked with experts in a wide variety of fields such as DNA, accident reconstruction, firearms, toxicology, computer forensics and many other case specific areas. Scott has filed appeals in Colorado District Court and the Court of Appeals, as well as several petitions to the Colorado Supreme Court. He has tried approximately 50 jury trials, including 30 felony criminal trials, throughout the State of Colorado. His trials range from DUI’s to multi-week high profile murder cases. For more than 15 years he worked for the Colorado State Public Defender in four of its regional offices; Colorado Springs, Steamboat Springs, Grand Junction, and Glenwood Springs. Scott served as a Supervising Attorney in the Grand Junction Office, then spent four years as the Managing Attorney/Office Head of the Glenwood Springs office before entering private practice.
